The original character lineup of Tangled by Jin Kim. (Don’t get me wrong, Eugene’s adorable, but Bastion’s a total cutiepie, too!)

Oh no… no, no, no… I SHIP IT.
Damn it.

I know, he has such a good design for a character. I like the Rapunzel and Eugene romance—obviously—for many reasons, partly because Eugene is so handsome, and—most importantly—charming, and I think that charm is just as important in a man as in a woman. I also think that Bastion was too tall and big for Rapunzel—it would be too much of a contrast, almost as if he was an adult and Rapunzel was a child, and that would be just be weird even if he was supposed to be like, 15 or something. I’m not trying to say that tall vs short relationships are not okay in the real world, but I think it would be weird in an animated romance. Besides, Flynn/Eugene is may favorite animated character of all time.
But I really like Bastion, too. His design says so much. In my fanfic that I will never write, Bastion was Eugene’s friend as a child that he meets again after Tangled, so that I could incorporate him into the story. (I invite anyone who thinks this would be a good idea to write it into their own fanfic, because I like it, but I’m never going to write my own story.)
I also like all of their clothes. I feel like the original design for the clothing of the characters was better in concept. But maybe it was just too expensive to try to animate all of that cloth.

Crowley by Jin Kim
Early villain in the old Rapunzel character line up. He appears more gypsy-like in his character line up image, sort of like Gypsy-Bastion. Rapunzel and her male companion seem to have had more dealings with gypsies in the earlier ideas for the film.

A tribute blog to the artwork from and for the film, franchise and fans of Disney's Tangled (2010). Finding Tangled artwork in the largest size and best quality available, and celebrating the most talented Tangled fanartists.

All artwork is sourced to the best of my knowledge and ability.

Remember to click the through-link, which will show you a larger & better quality copy of the image than you can get from Tumblr.

“Request Art” if you want to see something in particularly (general or specific), & I will post it if I have it. For more info, read this post.

I am fairly consistent about my tagging (read full post of my tags):

AoT tag for original/official Tangled artwork in the best quality & size I can find (concept art, promo images, storybooks, additional artist artwork, merchandise, etc). Not necessarily my original posts.

AoT fanart tag for the fanart that I think displays the best artistic skill &/or has the best characterization.

Check each post for links to more from individual artists such as:

Glen Keane, Claire Keane, Jin Kim, Victoria Ying, Dan Cooper, Scott Watanabe, Mark Kennedy, David Womersley, Lorelay Bove, Lauren Airriess, Lisa Keene, David Gilson, etc.

Due to the amount of effort I put into sourcing, I don’t tolerate it when people delete my text when they reblog. I think it’s just rude anyway. I also never reblog fanart if it can’t be credited or without adding proper credit. If you are a fanartist whose art has not been given credit on my blog, please let me know, and I will fix it.
