Flynn and Gothel in the Forest
Paul Felix | Digital
At one point in the development of the story, Flynn seems to have met Gothel while he went to gather firewood. She apparently goes to find him, to murder him, but something happens so that Flynn shakes her hand instead.
Now that would have been an interesting scene, wouldn’t it? I think it could be worked into a fanfiction nicely.
It sort of makes me think of the scene between Flynn and the Queen, actually.

Having Flynn make a deal with Mother Gothel would have made it so much more heart wrenching. I’m somewhat disappointed this didn’t show up.

Oh yeah, that’s right! I totally forgot, there was a Kevin Nelson drawing that he named “Flynn’s Deal” (in the filename)! I guess that indistinct female figure in it is supposed to be Gothel?
I don’t know if it would’ve been a terrible deal though. Maybe just, “Keep her safe and bring her back to the Tower” or “drop her off at the memorial” or something, and Flynn would be all, “m’kay, yer way creepy though, I’m very suspicious,” … or something. Then again, maybe they had planned for the story to have that slightly darker turn though, where Flynn agreed to do something for Gothel (maybe to get the satchel back), and planned to betray Rapunzel. If so, I’m glad it didn’t end up in the final film. He would have been a slightly different, less likeable character to me if he even thought of betraying Rapunzel.

The Memorial
Bill Perkins, Paul Felix, Jeff Turley | Digital
In another abandoned scene, Rapunzel visits the memorial to herself, the Lost Princess, apparently while Flynn has dropped her off to get rid of the satchel/crown. Mother Gothel’s role in this scene seems to have shifted between happy reunion and scary confrontation before the scene was scrapped entirely.

A tribute blog to the artwork from and for the film, franchise and fans of Disney's Tangled (2010). Finding Tangled artwork in the largest size and best quality available, and celebrating the most talented Tangled fanartists.

All artwork is sourced to the best of my knowledge and ability.

Remember to click the through-link, which will show you a larger & better quality copy of the image than you can get from Tumblr.

“Request Art” if you want to see something in particularly (general or specific), & I will post it if I have it. For more info, read this post.

I am fairly consistent about my tagging (read full post of my tags):

AoT tag for original/official Tangled artwork in the best quality & size I can find (concept art, promo images, storybooks, additional artist artwork, merchandise, etc). Not necessarily my original posts.

AoT fanart tag for the fanart that I think displays the best artistic skill &/or has the best characterization.

Other Tags:

Check each post for links to more from individual artists such as:

Glen Keane, Claire Keane, Jin Kim, Victoria Ying, Dan Cooper, Scott Watanabe, Mark Kennedy, David Womersley, Lorelay Bove, Lauren Airriess, Lisa Keene, David Gilson, etc.

Due to the amount of effort I put into sourcing, I don’t tolerate it when people delete my text when they reblog. I think it’s just rude anyway. I also never reblog fanart if it can’t be credited or without adding proper credit. If you are a fanartist whose art has not been given credit on my blog, please let me know, and I will fix it.
